I saw the Manchester 89 gig too, and it was intense. And the first time I saw them was also 86 at Sheffield. Not only did they not encore, they only played for 40 minutes. Many plastic glasses were thrown as the lights went up. The rumour was Jaz had a bad throat. But I noticed he also had a pot on his arm.

Manchester 89 was indeed fantastic. As I recall all of the International gigs I saw were.Apollo 86 was the 1st time I ever saw them live & the only time I ever met them so will always be special although I remember thinking it a shame it was somewhat empty & that they didn't encore.

For me I think Manchester 89 is probably up there with the first time I saw them at Fagins in circa 81. However, in my book, there is one that is definately the worst and that would be the gig at Manchester Apollo in 86. The sound was that bad, from where I 'had' to stand' that the first song I could recognise was about 6 songs in. Munich 2012 will be one of the best as well. Brian.
