[kj] Ministry At The Forum....

Oh well I have just bought it, as still pissed off about missing Raven with them in 2006 & also ASF(not with Raven obviosly, although Youth of course has worked with them  a lot) in 2007 although saw ASF recently.  Ministry also playing Bristol Academy on the 16th but seeing as am missing KJ there not sure about that as seem to remember was bit of damp squib in audience atmosphere after Forum in 2008.  Still I have an excuse of seeing KJ at Fleece for avoiding Academy for them.  See how it goes as I also want to explore some of my old areas of terror this year as well, too long neglected.  Incidentally I did not realise that Numans children are called Raven & Persia as well as Echo, interesting.

If they weren't in the Bromely contingency, or mates of them around London, then...?  It was as brutal as that, Alex.  Punk was a London clique and everything else such as the majesty of The Skids in Fife and Stiff Little Fingers in Ireland, came parallel or after.  Mind you, 'after' was a matter of months, which surely defines the delineation in question?

Funny you should all mention Chrissie Hynde.  Sister in law told me this week that when she was single and had her own basement flat in Earls Court back in the 90's, she had an epic New Years Eve party.  About 100 odd people came, and someone stole all her cosmetics...could it have been a certain smacked - up looking old raver sitting there amongst it all?  Yeah, her entire cosmetics arsenal.  No, not Beth Orton who attended and looked okay.  Missie Chrissie herself was there.  Friend of friends etc.

Got Revlon, in pocket,
got scabs, I'm gonna use it?

Arvid, if you face a huge hotel bill in Camden/Central London (which is likely), but can get a decent price in Ilford/Barkingside, take the Ilford/Barkingside option, in my opinion.

These places are alright. My wife's from around there - and I have very high standards... Sure, you won't want to take pictures and the Queen doesn't live there, but they are fine for a cheap night or two with easy access to the city and West End.

To look at your journey options go to 'Transport for London' (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/) and go through the Journey Planner link on the right-hand side.

I did a quick look for a journey next Monday night at 11.20pm and you're looking at about an hour, but that's average in London.

The main hassle is to get to Liverpool Street train station/Underground. Then its the tube or overland train out. My sense is that Ilford is better for overland trains, Barkingside for underground, but both go from Liverpool Street. You may have to factor in a bus or longish walk when you get off.

The journey is in fact a piece of pis*, but obviously if you're not familiar with our Victorian transport system, then ...

Hi all !!

I'm thinking of going to London to see Killing Joke at the Roundhouse !

I found some cheap hotels in the East End (Ilford / Barking),

but someone said to me I had to check if it's possible to get from

The Roundhouse back to Ilford / Barking after the show, by train or tube !

Anyone know when a concert usually ends in London on a week day, and

when the last tube and rail is !?

Or is it best just to get a hotel in the city ?

And do anyone know of a good (cheap) hotel in the Camden area ?

All the best

Look at Finsbury
Park. A short bus ride
back to the gig and there are loads of cheap hotels along that stretch of Seven
Sisters that would do the job,

Basically you have to get the train from Liverpool street, if not driving into
Essex via Stratford
whilst overstimulated from a Killing Joke gig, to find the Mother of all downers
awaiting you.? Be okay if you have friends there?? Good for takeaways
and highly competitive Indian restaurants?? Very good actually.
People are great but dear god, the state of it!

Stick to somewhere within staggering from the pub distance?? Worth the
cash and breakfast in the area the next day.

am about 20 minutes down the road . They do have a few cheapo hotels F1 etc but

Or
at any other time to be honest . . . .

Ilford
or Barking aren?t exactly hotspots of tourism so I hate to think what a hotel
in those areas would be like!

Hi all !!

I'm thinking of going to London
to see Killing Joke at the Roundhouse !
