[kj] "Rapture"

I like Rapture. I could pick other tracks that I dislike from previous
releases. Pandemonium is one of my favorite albums too. Uh, oh, here come
the 'gathering ogres'....

Don't mind it.

It's crying out for a change in there but it works on the Killing Joke
cyclical groove kind of levels. Reminds me of an organic exorcism if you
will.

I think this is one of Youth's protocols specials!

As good a time to de-lurk as any:

I like it. There's a relentless groove in there, a delicious descending bass
figure..I can imagine it fitting in nicely between the sinuous and
(hopefully) Fema Camp and the portentious (perhaps) Colony Collapse.

As a fan of Pandemonium era, a rare supporter of Hosannas and an isolated
critic of Dissent I embrace it! Nothing stunning, but then they wouldn't use
the best album track to trail the album would they?

If Raven again walks the earth on All Hallows Eve my life will be
complete...

It reminds me "The Great Cull" here, in terms of the lyrical tempo.

(But yes, it does have that 90s feel).

I keep listening to it, though.

I don't like it, either, and I thoroughly enjoyed Absolute Dissent and
Hosannas.

I wrote this on Aleph Kali's FB posting of "Rapture," so I'll just re-paste
it here, as it's all I can think of to say here, too:

"It sounds a little too 'Pandemonium' 90s to me. Big Paul is still doing
metronome drumming in this, no heavy-on-the-toms tribal stuff that I thought
we were promised (hope other tracks have this). It really reminds me of 90s
industrial metal Pandemonium-era KJ, which is not a great thing, to me. The
LP cover art is also very Photoshop 2.0. Meh..... Hope the other tracks are
better."

Ooh, I almost missed this

Thank you!

I also like if you look at the pic with your head to the left there's
amongst other things a little buck toothed demon with dinky arms & flares

Or a dog/cat/bear wearing 3d specs & a leather muzzle or look the other way
a rather funky 70's afro'd dude.. ahem
