[kj] Official KJ site update: New Ministry/Relapse

I have to agree, Ministry went down the wayside when Paul Barker left...

""Personally i think they lost it after Paul Barker left ,
although?I'll?still listen to the recent albums they just pale
in?comparison?to the stuff that he was on.
They lost that Industrial edge and turned more metal and the whole bush
thing became rather tiresome in the end.
Still hope to catch them one last time Live as well if i can.""

ok, well went through and gave it another skim.
I'd say its probably about on par with recent releases.
Couple good songs, some ok filler, and then some head scratchers.
topics include: addiction, current (OWS, etc), political, and lifes a real
MF'er. - about what you'd expect. And music follows pretty much the
standard Ministry format.

They have a song "99%" which seems it will be the one that would be their
standout/anthem song- although the lyrics are a bit simplistic- and I
would have expected a bit more from them in that dept on that topic.
They also do a "Get up Get out and Vote" that seems to be going for anthem.
There is a kind of trashy ballad sort of track (Bloodlust) that I liked
and showed a little variation-
If you were making a top 20 ministry comp for someone, you may throw that
one in there to round things out.
Most of it falls into what I usually think of their songs- I like the
intro, or the guitar riff, or vocals in the song but most of the time it
doesn't happen all in the same song, lol.
They do a United Forces S.O.D. cover.
Im sure everyone could pull a few things they like out of it.
I might try to interview Ol' Al -- not nec on the music but just to let him
expound on some current topics

Pretty much how I feel about the band. Will still maintain open mind and
look forward to hearing their latest. ?If it can match "Lockbox" and
"Unsung" then all the better.?

Last Wed I got to meet Ben Shepherd from Soundgarden after the gig, and he
signed my original Screaming Elf (cover pic from Superunknown) tee-shirt.
Already my favourite possession, now it's a holy relic.

Problem is, I was in the mosh for 2 hours prior so it was really damp and
reeks of other people's sweat.

So I don't think I can wash it cos the sig will come off...not sure what
kind of pen it was cos it was someone else's. Any ideas? Im thinking I'll
have it framed but it would be nice to get it cleaned somehow beforehand.

Was the pen grey w/a black cap and clip? If so it was probably a sharpie and
won't wash off.If the guy planned to use the pen for autographs (or if it
was the band's) it was also most likely a sharpie. If you're not sure, try
rubbing some hot water on the sig and see if it smudges!

You could turn it inside out, and hang it on a line outside for a while.
Whack it with some Fabreeze if the stench doesn't disappear.

T-shirts do rather well in album frames. You can wrap it around a cardboard
square, and the spring clips will hold it in place. They sell them at Target
and Michael's stores.
