Yes - they distanced themselves from his comments early on.
Yes - they tried to express how chaotic it is to be in Killing Joke,
implication being that Coleman is always fucking things up, regardless of
whether he's smoking, drinking or not.
Yes, this was all about Jaz and not about the band.
No - that doesn't limit the collateral damage.

Let's be clear about this - Comac was specifically requested to dictate an
utterance from Coleman. Unfortunately the delivery method, intended
audience, and officialness of the proclamation is irrelevant, the
information content and subsequent panic disappearance from civilisation and
re-appearance with a mouthful of bullshit has done its damage.

What was the name of their last album - 2012. Not 1981. It was already
blatantly obvious that 'they' (with Coleman obviously calling the shots or
over-exercising veto power like a Prima Donna) couldn't even organise to
turn up to their own gigs, so it comes as no surprise that they have no idea
how to conduct themselves in a marketing & publicity sense in the 21st
century. 

In 2012, if you think that just because your gobshite rant hit the comments
section as opposed to the SuperFaceFuckWall or whatever, that that means
it's not quite as much of a facepalm, results indicate that you're wrong.
