[kj] OT: Grace for Drowning...opinions?

No Part of Me raped my mind, starts off like a No Man softie, then ends up rape by trumpet (or whatever it is)…

 

Even less accessible then Inrurgentes, agreed. Lots of contrast, don’t know yet whether that’s a touch of genius, or harms the flow and listenability, or both…

 

I like Wilson’s vocal changes a la 1st track. Oh and did he swallow a harmonica at 0.45 of Postcard?

The Beggs is smeared all over Sectarian (stick), No Part Of Me (bass solo!), Remainder The Black Dog (bass, stick), and the first half of Raider II (bass, stick).

 

It's practically a Beggs solo album, were it not for Levin, Gunn, Mastelotto, Hackett &c.

 

Oh, and Steven Wilson.

Also: Deform to form a star brought a tear to my eye last week, I was ill with flu though . . .

Listened to it about 4-5 times, still getting my head around it and trying not to compare to his first solo album, which is hard. Wilson’s hitting some really interesting keys / notes in his singing.
