I took part in a whale rescue when I was 11 or 12, 120 pilot whales beached
in Maungonui (was up there the other day).only lost 3, which made it the
most successful whale rescue recorded, at the time. Very little thanks to
me, but was a pretty cool experience.

dolphins can be intimidating fuckers! i was surfing once and surrounded by
them, swam around within touching distance and realised 'they could kill me
if they wanted'. powerful creatures. they were just on their own buzz,
feeding.. others times they have been quite playful..  

we scored a whale rib at work today, prob about 4m long!

I had the honour of swimming with dolphins when I first came to Cali. And
they chose to meet me, not the other way around..I thought they were sharks
at first, lol!
