[kj] John Foxx last night in XOYO?

Underpass indeed. Yes, I recall the lamentable remix. These days without Louis, John seems to be coming back to avoiding 'same old presets on me synth' sound, which is all I want to hear. Synth music is ruined by the same old drums, the same old strings, the same old bass...that was not the initial idea of it. A synthesizer can be a different instrument everytime it is reprogrammed. You build a whole new voice on the reductive-synth controls, even on a software one.

I think a lot of so-called synthesizer bands tunes are just cliche's recycled systematically over and over. OOh! I've got the arpeggiator working! Hey, listen to these ethereal strings...OOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUOOOOOOO etc.

UNDERPANTS!

I really like the "impossible" album that Foxx did with Louis Gordon..but wish they'd left "The Man Who Dies Every Day" off it...

Surely you mean Underpants?

The poor chap even tried to pretend it was called Overpass a few years back, to deter raucousness.

Much as I like the Louis Gordon albums, I have to note that Hannah and Serafina are more agreeable to watch than Louis doing his Fatboy Slim dance.

The use of a violin in such as Plaza and No one Driving was very effective. Been done before has it not? We avoided the other bands as best we could. Synth players nowadays, dear God. If you compose it, you can really get to hate some people's idea of fun. Anyhow, Foxxy well animated and really rocking. Only 3 members of The Math but all he needed. Guess what the last encore song was? :)
