[kj] (OT) Dangerous Dancing?

[I'll pretend I didn't read that]

The real threat are those people who support
freedom/theConstitution/BillO'Rights,etc. as an intellectual exercise, "in
theory," and "on paper" but who instinctively, reflexively,
wholeheartedly,  Snap! to attention the second Authority glares. They're the
ones who hand over those who are more liberal Freedomites. They can't stand it,
not as anything more than "principle." It feels righteous to them to hand these
people over. Like kids who were rewarded for throwing their siblings to the
wolves (or parents even).
Really. I mean, c'mon, Constitutions and "rights" are one thing and great to
defend to show (i.e. shibboleths)** you're a real American, but Authority??
Authority is All, full stop.

FWIW the previous season-closer for gLee! where the glee club is competing in
Sectionals and Quinn's giving birth all to the full track of "Bohemian Rhapsody"
absolutely rocked. Rocked! ;) It was shot like the Godfather II scene where on
the one hand Michael Corleone is at his child's baptism, with cut-aways to his
Hitters shooting all of Michael's enemies:

Oh. I'm all for the downfall of Glee, myself.
A latterday saved by the bell.

I support anything that is in the interest of bringing about the downfall of
anything even remotely related to the TV show "Glee" (which is what I attribute
to all this flashmob/lipdub hellish nightmare garbage).

Do you support the Patriot Act, Leigh?
Although I only posted this as something of interest, would you suggest
people only demonstrate in their bedrooms?
To do nothing perpetuates the status quo. If the Police had done nothing, this
situation would have deflated in 5 minutes.
To me, the policeman was pretty ignorant, seemingly unaware of a legimate law to
throw at them. A baboon throwing his weight around.

I think I also remember reading somewhere on the video description that this was
a flashmob type thing. That being the case, the people involved deserve not
only a life sentence in jail but an additional life sentence burning in hell.

exactly- of course they weren't hurting anyone- even the cops knew the whole
thing was silly- they seemed hardly bothered by it- I mean just doing their job,
putting minimal energy into it.

there is a 'code of conduct and reverence' in the monuments, almost the same as
in a church- its just not the place to go do that, but of course they knew that
and they set it up to maximize a silly point.

It proves nothing except winding up people already in the fold-- and it
accomplishes nothing..

Of course, they weren't causing a threat to anyone at any point at all. Any
rational person would agree with you. Even those cops know that there was
nothing wrong with what was going on. The facts remain though: If some cop tells
you "If you do this, you will be arrested" and you start doing it, provoking
them and being all cute, well guess what? In Washington DC on a national
monument, no less. It's really not hard to avoid trouble, with cops or
otherwise, so long as a person can keep their desperate need for attention at
bay. For these people, it's a battle they clearly can't win.
