[kj] Best Gig (after 91)

Greetings,

ah right completely to mention Jah Wobble & the sofa, very funny, but think he used to do it in the PIL days as well?!  Also forgot to mention that autumn 2003 gig was filmed of course for aborted first version of DVD, got interviwed by  young woman from Prague radio afterwards & filmed so was understandably pissed off when found that other plans made, as well as being swindled for Gems Of Power around this time.  Might have affected my attitude to Feb 2005 gig then although other things were taking place in my life as well.  However very positive again about the Joke these days after excellent gigs outlined before & decent LP.  No regrets about missing RFH & Camden though.  Onwards to the future!!  As they said already in the early eighties: KILLING JOKE, THE LAST GREAT ROCK N ROLL BAND!!  Seems more true than ever now, nobody else worth seeing this year it seems.

The Fungus Moth.

Challenging the Future.

Hottest gig I've been to, by a wide margin.  I bought a t-shirt just to have something dry to wear on the journey home.

The Underworld 2003 was probably my Favourite London show.

Boiling hot is an understatement, i sat outside the venue on the pavement after the gig for well over an hour feeling exhausted, dizzy but immensley happy.

There's a welcome lite-hearted-?and funkiness to Damage Manual that would sound great if KJ could incorporate it, even if just a bit, for a much needed change.? But then that would mean them sounding like KJWTF?-KJFireDances era, so, no, they'd never try it.? *weeps*

i forgot about the damage manual gig. that was memorable for jah wobble sitting
on a sofa with his back to the audience for a lot of the gig.
i seem to remember the gig being quite good quality. even king mob sounded ok
but this was before the cd was out and it sounds shit on the cd.

still cant help wondering how all those wasted riffs would have sounded on a kj
recording consisting off
hole in the wall
uninvited guest
last of the urgents
age of urges
peepshow ghosts
blame & demand
damage addict

I'll see and raise you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSt8LgTXcwY?(all that funkiness amid such marvelous chaos)

I'd love to hear what they'd write if? they were *ahem* 'under the influence' of such rhythms and
wealth of tone like, say, manu chao, roots manuva, lee scratch perry, junior murvin, cypress hill, et.cet.era, ad nauseam, et al.?

So hows the traffik? I stayed home instead?and watch the ARG v. URU match. Gladiatorial combat is best on tv instead of the highways anyway.

I thought the intro from the sonisphere gig was brilliant apart from the song
itself. i think requiem is a marmite song.i hate it.
I love the slow intros-i think they've worn communion out but unspeakable and
tommorow's world is brilliant.
a different take would be another cult goes down?that would be good-only a 'b
side though'
not much beats termite mound as an intro...

Kaliyuga -> Fall of Because worked brilliantly on Miami Kitchen Club ODIC
show.

'The Hum' can't fail but yes it'd be great to hear something different like
ACGD.

I find it hard to imagine those as KJ tracks. I think a lot of them were
improvised in the studio. Happy to keep them as "side projects". Give
Connelly something to do!
