Yeah that was a brilliant publicity move by the Pistols. I believe they purposely played places where they would cause the most uproar and be the
least popular and get the shit kicked out of them (there were even religious protesters at the TexASS shows) just to cause a stir.
Keep in mind the southern US was NOT the most open minded place to anything esp back in 1978, and he only thing you heard about the Pistols
back in the US then (you never HEARD their music on radio; the first "punk" song played was probably "Train in Vain" by the Clash) was that
they constantly threw up, spit, and urinated on people.

Actually, the Sex Pistols avoided the North/Northeast specifically, and played, for ex., the Longhorn Ballroom of Dallas, TX, and ended their run at Winterland in San Francisco.

They (the Pistols, that is) were slated to play SNL, and Elvis Costello was retained as the backup band. Malcolm MacLaren canceled the SNL/NYC gig at the last moment and so Elvis Costello and gang went on the show at the last moment, the drummer or guitarist (I forget which) wearing a shirt that said, "THANKS, MALC" since that ended up being their big breakthrough.

Anyway, what is actually with KJ? They are slated to play Warsaw, Poland, June 10, and Austin, TX, June 5. Also, KJ have apparently committed to play a show in Las Vegas, NV on May 31. So, what's up, KJ?

Everyone remembers the example of the Sex Pistols, it seems.

Andreas manually added me back onto the list!

My old email/ISP shut down and I had a devil of a time re-subscribing. Finally, Mr. Misera manually added. Thanks, Andreas.

I felt like I especially wanted to get back seeing as how Killing Joke have made my dreams come true and announced an Austin show for, surprisingly, a large underground punk fest on Sunday June 5, 2011. It seems Killing Joke will be playing another US punk fest in Las Vegas, Nevada, a few days before.

Are Killing Joke cobbling together a new US tour? They tend to neglect the US south and southwest (if I were European, I'd be tempted to do the same). And yet at least one site says Killing Joke are also playing Warsaw June 10, 2011, five days after they play Austin, TX, USA! What !!!

Cheers :)
