Nick Oliveri, erstwhile bassist with Queens Of The Stone Age, is facing up to 15 years in prison following a stand-off with police in Los Angeles.
Oliveri’s neighbours called 911 to report a domestic disturbance between the musician and his girlfriend; when the police turned up, Oliveri allegedly wouldn’t let his girlfriend leave, precipitating a 2-hour stand-off which saw a SWAT team called.
When the police eventually apprehended Oliveri, they found in his house a fully loaded, high-powered rifle, cocaine and methamphetamines. According to Exclaim, Oliveri has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with a firearm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one misdemeanour count of resisting, obstructing or delaying a police officer.
If he is convicted on all counts, he will serve a maximum of 15 years in prison.
At the time of his arrest, Nick Oliveri was playing in a reformed Kyuss, sans Josh Homme, going by the name of Kyuss LIVES!.
