The German Zillo Musikmagazin features an interview with Jaz Coleman in their October issue. As for some years now, the magazine comes with a cd, and "ESS" has been selected. Not a big surprise as this is a gothic magazine.

My apologies to the German-speakers Gatherers here. Feel free to edit my translation :)

Excerpt
Killing Joke – Human volcanoes

Killing Joke have been in existence for over 30 years and never hushful even for a bit: for their new studio album "Absolute Dissent", the English post-punkers go back to the start even with their original line-up. Yet, the singer Jaz Coleman’s current thought is oriented rather to a world revolution, as this becomes clear in the exciting talk with Zillo.

Jeremy "Jaz" Coleman’s persona is the one of a hurricane; his blasting laughter shakes the walls. And his whisky and cigar smoke-sounding voice moulds sentences of steel. The singer is passionate about the matter and advocates his political concerns with the same fury the new album does; the title of which ,“Absolute Dissent”, is absolutely programmatic.

(...)

"We are on fire ", Jaz tells with perceptible pride. "We could go to the studio every frigging day and record new songs right away. With the return of Paul Ferguson we are complete, and the chemistry among us simply works. I love 'Absolute Dissent' from start to end, which is something that I can’t say of all our albums, by any means. " The singers stresses that Killing Joke, as opposed to many other bands, still create relevant music even after 31 years. "It has been an incredible journey of a 17-year-old amateur to the professional musician in his 50’s”, laughs the front man with his sharply, scratching guttural voice "We were a bunch of losers without a qualification. Killing Joke is our university. We taught everything to ourselves."

We 'll reveal more of what Jaz Coleman said about the Killing-Joke comeback “Absolute Dissent“ album and of his political views in the current October issue of Zillo!
