[kj] So new album..where does it stand

What about KROQ (Rodney on the ROck)--is it still around?
I could easily imagine ESS on the comm-alternative radio. But first, the cd has to arrive on the shores of the US. THen, the completely pre-programmed,
bought and paid for, spineless radio has to play it. It's not like the 90s when these new alt radio stations played stuff like "Pandemonium" and bands like Consolidated
(although they played lost of awful stuff like Happy Mondays--that dreadful song "I'm Free to do what I want/Any old time..."
That being said, a lot of the stuff on radio these days sounds ok--very 80s influenced, and even big bands like the Killers are better than some 80s puke rock like
Eurythmics, the Cars, etc.

Seriously, I think the new stuff sounds like it could play really well on 
NPR-type stations. Here in Los Angeles there is KCRW and I really think it 
would fit well in their playlists (say, on Morning Becomes Eclectic; 
Jason Bentley's nighttime show) and in their artist showcases that they 
have regularly. European Super State sounds great for that. Sounds like 
it's perfect (w/a little Youthful tweaking) for the clubs too.
 
Fresh Fever (and ESS) could definitely play well on Comm-Pop Radio.  
Then again, I don't know.. I just DL'd the album so I haven't been able to 
consider the other gems.

I think we should start a phone-in campaign in all our US cities to get "ESS" played on the commercial "alternative" radio stations. That is, if they release the thing in the US...
