Has anyone else got rather emotional listening to The Raven King? Unexpectedly so?
I will be buying this.

I’ll agree with that 100%.

And, again, Big Paul puts Dave Grohl's drumming on 2003 to shame...

These are happy days for us KJ fans (provided you didn't buy tickets to
some of their gigs). :)

Life is like a movie,if
you've sat through more than half of it and its sucked every second so far,it
probably isn't gonna get great right at the end and make it all worthwhile.

No one should blame you for walking out early.

Agreed, it is a bloody great album! Fave
tracks at the moment are ESS and The Great Cull. And Endgame. The
Raven King is quite moving, as expected. Needs a few more listens before
I can rank it with the others.

Only got to play it twice through last night: I
rushed home, fired up the laptop, and was about to press play when “the missus”
came home from work and wanted to talk about her day. Women – they can be
so selfish. ;-)

Cheers,

Janean

I think it mostly sits in with 2003 personally.
It's got an uptempo vibe - nowehere near as dark as Hosannas.

But I can definitely see the pre-first album influences there, mainlu
the guitar, as well as a couple of Night Time and even BTATS references (The Raven
King reminds me a bit of Sanity).

Don't see much in the way of Revelations/Fire Dances in there. The
drums are not very tribal.

But it's a great album - really enjoying the melody in there and the
fact that Jaz sings on some of the tracks!

Good work fellas!

Early days but for those who've downloaded it, what do you reckon it
harks back to??
