On October 4, Columbia <http://www.columbia.co.uk/> will release*Metallic
Spheres*, an album-length collaboration between Pink Floyd
singer/guitarist David
Gilmour <http://www.davidgilmour.com/> and UK dance collective the
Orb<http://pitchfork.com/artists/3169-the-orb/>.
For this album, the Orb consisted of main man Alex Paterson and producer
Youth.

The record is set to be released as a CD, a download, and double LP, as well
as a "double CD" which features something called a "3D60 mix" that allows
for 3D sound. 3D is super hot right now.
