Was good to see you & Tom on Saturday Chris - sorry we had to dash off
the tube in a bit of hurry when we suddenly realised it was our stop -
it was touch and go whether Iain was going to make it off the train in
time... Glad you enjoyed the party
All - sorry I missed the pre-gig meet at Latymers... we started
mid-afternoon at the Blue Anchor by the river catching up with a few old
friends we mostly know more from following NMA and SOD... Kept meaning
to leave and head up to Latymers, but every time we were close to going,
some bugger would buy another round...
Had a fab time in the gig, (what a fantastic atmosphere!! - and no
nastiness that I saw), and it was great to say a quick hello to Antoni,
Jon, Dave, Matt, Dirk, Nicola, Lisa & Garry, Jayne, Marie, and numerous
other gatherers, (and non-gatherers), who I bumped into during or after
the show (sorry I forget all the names - good to see you all)... Wish I
had the energy of that young, fearless blonde girl in the moshpit - she
reminded me of me 20 years ago ;-)
Went to the 2nd part of Einsturzende Neubaten's 30th event yesterday - a
very much more civilised affair, but also really good!!! They had a 90
minute film on rotation all evening, which showed some great footage
throughout their career, then they did a really slick and captivating 40
minute set, followed by sets by 2 side-project bands, (which tbh were
less engaging and we left early)... Another good night out though.
Feeling my age today - work after 2 night out on the bounce is not to be
recommended... Jane

You're right Alex and sorry for offence.
Just spoiled part of what was a great weekend
Gig was great, gatherers celebrating was great, the party we ended up
going to was great, I just don't like being told something and left
standing there looking like a pratt.
Chris

Sorry to hear it, Chris. I know it sucks, but try not to take it so
hard.
This is why I tend to shy away from after-party things. So many people,
so much expectation. In no way am I excusing what happened to you, but
it's so easy in these situations for something to fall through the
cracks. For the individuals at the center of the attention (i.e. the
band), everybody wants a piece of you and your time and your good graces
and it must be impossible to please and help everyone -- invariably
someone goes home feeling hurt.
But, I'm sorry it didn't work out. I'm sure your friends understand.
We've all been there at one point or another.

Leave me standing outside the aftershow looking like a complete

because Eddy gave me her wristband! Never would have happened in
Raven's day. Fucking Bollox! And don't tell me you're going to sort us
out then leave us standing there! CUNTS!
What pissed me off the most was one of our group was Jake (aka
Rev D Wayne Love from Alabma 3) who I convinced to come in the first
place! Treat me like that you wankers?
Respect is earned by respect. You fucking lost mine!
Go and suck each others dicks at some shite, pretentious
aftershow! Make sure you swallow!

Pissed off!
It used to be about the band and the music for me,
actually it's only about the people is the reality!

No, no, no, absolute dissent!
It's someone elses job that's not been done with
passion! Don't blame the band!
Lower my expectations?! No, no, no, maybe I need to set
my goals even higher and get involved!
To speak up to correct errors in the system is step no.
1.
Frustration means obstruction and I am being totally
active!
I do know that there's is this saying: It seems
impossible to truly love people that hurt and dissapoint us....
yet..there are no other people! Is that what you are
trying to say?
And then this one, for all the dissapointments
concerning KJ tour cancelling or even the bookshoppers amongst you, this
is a phrase from the secretarial course in did: The golden rule of
keeping office diary is...plans are made to be adjusted! Even personal
things can come in between (x5+ in this KJcase!).
I like good intended advice and so here is some of
mine...there's this travel-insurance that even covers the costs of
tickets. Don't know if it's all covered, don't know the terms, but I
will try and find out (and share) next time I'm booking my hotel and
tickets for the Killing Joke tour 2011 (let's start a rumour!). Anyone
on this board that does this kind of stuff for a business? Please share
your knowledge! And how about those credit cards insurances? If you
didn't get the goods you paid for, then address the person that's got
your money and claim your money back!
I have a feeling that that money didn't end up in one of
the bandmembers pockets. It's the circus around it all that seems to
fuck it up!
So..isn't it so that when you paid it with a credit
card, the goods are covered (for loss) within a surten time? Has anyone
tried this yet?
Please share your experiences!
I don't mean to be 'dishing' you, but are you sure you
are 'without the constant frustrations?' Your e-mail doesn't read that
to me. Maybe mine doesn't to you! I just like to say: patience is a
virtue...And Jaz likes to sing it and: let it all out, let it rise unto
the surface!
Well I'm glad you are speaking up. That is what usually
works for me too!
Greetings from Liz from Amsterdam

At some point, you have to have realized that the band
doesn't much give a f at cK. Not enough, anyway.
I don't say it sarcastically, but if we lower our
expectations similar to the band's, we won't find ourselves
disappointed, and we'll get our info&knowledge sooner, better, and
without the constant frustrations.
Works for me, anyway.

Apollo recordings!
How nice to have an official homepage for Killing Joke
that never gives me the information on time! And I totally hate it if
they give out wrong information! How long did it take for the Dublin
concert to be mentioned? And now this.. wrong date mentioned!
I usually find out about CD/tour news by googling the
net! Hardly ever do I get the news from the Official Homepage.
And when I have news, I share it via the gathering!
That's how I found out about the Dublin concert.. Thanks for sharing
fellow gatherers!
Can anyone please inform the administrator that the date
mentioned on the official website for the recording of the Killing Joke
concert at Hammersmith Apollo, London should read the 16 October and not
the 22nd!
Thanks so much in advance,
(wonder how long it's gonna take to see it corrected,
this is day 1)
Greetings from Liz from Amsterdam
