For those fond of "nostalging," old K-ROQ dj Richard Blade and The (English) Beat are appearing in L.A. for Halloween.

I have to agree KROQ sucks, big time. My husband said it used to be much better "back in the day."

++++++++++

Back in the early 80's they really were. Back around '79 - '83 I was more into hard rock and metal bands but I also loved punk and
some of the more "alternative" cult bands starting up at the time. Frankly, it was imo the best time for tons of new bands really
branching out into all sorts of new genres.

I've never been much of a radio
listener (or MTV viewer), but I will say that when I did occasionally listen to KROQ, I "discovered"
more than a few new bands, especially punk bands that I'd have probably missed out on for years if not completely. Yeah, they
played the hell outta "poppy" new wave one-hit wonder acts like Split Enz, The Vapors and The Waitresses but I also would get clued
into more obscure harder edged bands like The Cramps, X and Bauhaus way before their peak.
