Wow -- just in time for Thanksgiving.
Thanks for letting us know.

Cheers,

I'm now holding in may hands something I never thought I would: the new cd, just released in the US TODAY!
I was too cheap (esp. after waiting so many month) to buy the slightly more expensive 2-cd, w/the crappy cover versions
and 20-page booklet (what's on it anyway, KJ history? I already know that). At least the regular version has the lyrics--and it
even thanks the Gatherers in the liner notes!

yeah i get that, things are tough all over..

just seems a tad ironic that the mighty KJ are embracing consumerism in such a way that to me conflicts with the image they have created.

It doesn't help make any money that's why!
Killing joke probably get something like 12-15% of the price TO THE DEALER. not the sales price. The dealer price is about half that of the sales price. So to make it simpler, maybe they get 6-8% of sales price.

Of that they have to pay probably 20% to management and then god knows what else. So actually, making money from cd or digital sales is pretty hard work.

You can make money in the industry by gigging ( see the rise in ticket prices) merchandising and licensing. Selling your tracks to adverts and movies pays considerably more than record sales.

I am afraid 2-3 versions of a cd is necessary to make money these days. Especially in the digital age when there are so many illegal downloads.

The mixes ought to show up on the ESS single. Killing Joke never had a
truly exclusive track for Japan, and this would not be the time to
start

The links do not look functional.

I ordered ESS thru Amazon UK when the album was released. Finally the
item was cancelled.

You are not missing much with the "dubstep" mix, although I'll try to
be a completist. The territory-specific content seems like a gigantic
step backwards. If the remix is so confusing to the marketplace, or
licensing so difficult that it must not be audible outside the UK,
well I'm guessing you shouldn't have bothered to start. (Underworld
for example. And the Manics.)
