Hearing LLB for the first time: in front of the TV in my parents' house, watching The Tube (so, Night Time, LLB, Kings and Queens).

I agree. Most of these covers are not good, but it shows the power and influence of Killing Joke. 
And "LLB," 25 years on, remains powerful and haunting. 
FWIW, I remember where I was the first time I heard it in the spring of '85.
