I think it's part of their plan for world entertainment domination: they already control promotion and the venues; the next logical step is to cut out the performers.

This is the same ad that ran in the last issue of Classic Rock (Slash/Fergie cover), along with about a dozen different references in anticipation of the new album and tour in April/May. I imagine they burned some bridges there.

It is unfortunate that whatever power that is has them using this type of cliched metal imagery.
