We’re arguing the same point – love it J

Actually the issue of hypocrisy confirms my argument. Religion tells its followers to do a lot of things- and most of these teachings are ignored one way or another by the majority of 'the faithful'. And that includes Islam.

The issue of hypocrisy only furthers my point. There are none -it’s pick and mix. To be a true Christian (good luck to you on that):

Renounce all worldly goods

First of all, Jesus demands complete, voluntary poverty. Not only does he tell us that it is blessed to be poor, but he also commands his hearers to give away all their property. We are not to "lay up treasures on earth where moth and rust consume and thieves break in and steal" (Matt. 6:19

Renounce your family

Second, Jesus requires his followers to renounce all family ties, indeed, even to hate father and mother and wife and brother and sister.

Commit to a life of non-violence

Third, Jesus demands a life of absolute non-violence. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn the other one. If someone makes you carry his load, carry it a second mile (Matt.5: 38-41). You are to love all enemies and to do good to all who "despitefully use you."

By those standards, all Christians believe you can own slaves and have more than one wife. But how many of them are bigamists and slaveowners?

So the mantra ‘Islam is peace’ is almost 1,400 years out of date. It was only for about 13 years that Islam was peace and nothing but peace. From 622 onwards it became increasingly aggressive, albeit with periods of peaceful co-existence, particularly in the colonial period, when the theology of war was not dominant. For today’s radical Muslims — just as for the mediaeval jurists who developed classical Islam — it would be truer to say ‘Islam is war’. One of the most radical Islamic groups in Britain, al-Ghurabaa, stated in the wake of the two London bombings, ‘Any Muslim that denies that terror is a part of Islam is kafir.’ A kafir is an unbeliever (i.e., a non-Muslim), a term of gross insult.

Unfortunately, while 99 percent of Muslims mean no one any harm, it's vicious cretins like this guy who continue to fan the flames of xenophobia, suspicion and irrational hatred of their faith by those of other religions, ethnic groups, etc.
