Would anyone be interested in putting together "A Gathering Tribute to Killing Joke"?

SMARTYR aka Dark Mother Dub aka Aleph is in!

It'd be great if a Killing Joke tribute band could play locally the same week just before the KJ gig.

This tenuously links to something I've been thinking about for a while (& I think has been raised in the past?)
There are a lot of musicians on this list - people with real talent who's myspaces etc have oft left me slack jawed - & people like me who enjoy a dabble.

There are plenty of tribute CD's out there but how many by the actual fan base?

Whoever wants to, does a version/reworking of a KJ song.
We collate them all & share them.
Could be done to iTunes etc via reverbNation/CD Baby (they have something in there for dealing with cover versions & copyright) them or just have a bunch of MP3s somewhere for our own pleasure.

No snobbery.
No this is in, that isn't.
Just gatherers paying musical homage ("Homage?! You're drunk!") for fun.

Good idea?
Bad idea?
