I think Murphy's mistake was in throwing his stockings at a guy. It would be like Sinead O'Connor throwing a thong at a girl.

I wouldn't either. I appreciate that he's thinking of the fans and all, but there is such a thing as going too far -- even at a rock concert. 
And I like both Bauhaus and Murphy's solo works.
