Agreed on 51st State. By a mile.

So, the general consensus on America would be that it is a nebulous track?

NMA's "51st State" was still - to my mind -- a hundred times more pointed than "America," which was pretty much just filled with fanciful projections ("a silver dollar for every child"???), regardless of who its intended audience was.

I don't think that Americans were the intended audience for America, they were preaching to an already 'converted' European audience. Britain already being the 51st State.
NMA's 51st State was aimed at Brits, not Americans (IMO)
