Thank Karen. Yes, I heard this tour was supposed to be the 1st 2 albums played live. I also like their "newer" stuff--cds from 2003 and 2006 are strong.

Hi, Greg. Sorry you misssed them. No doubt they were great there, too. They took the stage at 10:15 (at the House of Blues in San Diego), and started out with "Fast Cars." They played all the songs I thought they would ("Autonomy"), along with a few I didn't ("Lipstick").
The crowd reaction was elation. It never seemed like they were "phoning it in," the way you see with other bands who've been around the block Just wished they would have played "Why Can't I Touch It?" Pete Shelley moved a little slowly on stage, while Diggle was like a whirling dervish. They came out for one encore and played three songs ending with ...
wait for it ...
"Orgasm Addict." It brought down the house. (Not my fave by them, but they certainly did it justice.)
I could go on forever, but I won't -- other than to say, it's one of the best live shows I've ever seen, and I'm still smiling.

Cheers,

K.W.

Not sure anyone (besides her fans) could've
guessed any of the following wtf?!-worthy events:

".. Belinda Carlisle grew up...with a stepdad who drank..and a mother on lithium. She and her many siblings ate "oatmeal and Bac-O-Bit sandwiches for dinner."
"...kids called her "Belimpa" and mocked her for having only one outfit. She dreamed of being Marcia Brady but obsessed over Charles Manson. "
Just how messy did things get? John Belushi harangued her about the perils of drugs and fame. Maurice Gibb pulled her aside at the Grammys and told her to wipe her nose. Rod Stewart reprimanded her for keeping him up all night.

Shi'zus, when John or Mauri' or Rod are telling you! to get a fuckin' grip, you know things have gone very wrong for you.
