Watch it there folk, Sandinista is my favorite album ever! (Give side 5 a listen sometime). And the Clash made sure when released that is sold for a price closer to a single album...

Yeah, but it's all a bit 1979 though, isn't it?

Unknown pleasures? groundbreaking. Sandinista? Should've have stopped at give em enough rope...I had no problem giving Factory money, either. Something a bit whacked with the Clash singing revolution for CBS :P

I admire Joy Division and New Order -- however, I agree with Mr. Slawson.

Sounds like a steep price to see a stuck-up bassist play songs by an overrated (although they certainly were influential) band. I'd only pay that price to see any kind of tribute to:
The Clash, Specials/Selecter/Bad Manners/Bodysnatchers/Beat, Black Flag, Minutemen, Jason and the Scorchers, Pylon/Love Tractor (Athens, Georgia), Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Stiff Little Fingers, George Jones, and of course KJ, who may one day in the distant future play a show or 2 in the US. Actually, I've seen all of the former bands except for Bodysnatchers (who I'm sure never made it to the US since they only released a couple of singles), so I know what I'm talking about!

Hi all

A friend was asking me if I was interested in going to see Peter Hook and Friends perform a show called Unknown Pleasures: A Joy Division Celebration. Tickets are $AUS80.
I would like to get the opinion of The Gatherers: Is this show - (a) not to be missed or (b) to be avoided?

Thanks

Geoff
