[kj] OT: New Stranglers Single

Yes me too on the top 3 which is why I forget the rest......in Mojo, JJ
talks about the Wembley gig in 78 where they launched The Raven before
it was released, I was there and the bill was Nils Lofgren opened,
Stranglers, AC/DC (with Bon Scott) and the Who headlining with an
impressive laser show (JJ says something about the light show not
sanctioned by the council but I remember it being good)...anyway, the
following week's NME front page was a montage of the guitarists from
each band - Townsend, usual manic pose, Angus Young thrashing about,
Lofgren doing whatever, and Cornwell picking his nose in true punk
disdain...was the only time I saw them live and was blown away by JJ's
bass, truly one of the best players I've ever seen and heard...

Hmm, I think that might be my Top 3 too... though Raven and B&W are
interchangeable. Listening to Dreamtime right now though! All the albums

had some good moments, even up to 10, but after Hugh left it was just
unbearable for me... that new guy was awful! They're way better now,
but
still got the feeling it wasn't quite The Stranglers. And probably never

will be again.
