[kj] Thank You, Linkin Park

Exactly my point. Bastards. I feel sick noticing the build up, the use of the imagery - hands in the air, band limbering up. Then the smart arsed self-reflective I'm not perfect lyrics. Fuck off. Power chords all the way.

One reason Killing Joke are good is because some songs they do are not as good as others. Linkin Product will produce a shelf of dead certs, produced to perfection to work. The Joke do their best & then get rotten in the pub I am sure.
Do you all realize that is is smart types of our generation are cleverly manufacturing and manipulating this stuff? We either see it for what it is, or make it what it is and do well!!!! I wanna sell out and get rich!!!!

But notice how then they "man it up" by throwing in equally bland hiphop-ish beats to try to usurp that rogue/thug/black/"urban" mystique and feel,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tyr5_5l-w3I#t=0m31s (aptly named "faint.")

To all lyrics enthusiasts out there,
in EuropeanSuperState there's the line, "From the Baltic to the Straits of Gibraltar," which is similar to Pet Shop Boys' "From Lake Geneva to the Finland station" line from "West End Girls."
So, is this type of geo-graphical/-political reference or device common, and does it mean anything more than just referring to Europe in general? It seems that in both the above lines there's a bit of an ominous or portending quality to it.

I just listened to Linkin Park for the first time. There is this template now, standard issue soft american rock against the corporation system that produces stuff like that music? Er...

I am sure they are all nice boys. Well done Karen!

Without a doubt. Their place is reserved in Hell.

Linkin Park are quite obviously not a Killing Joke rip-off. I can't see much of the Joke in their bland nu-metal.

How does it go? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? Now all them little Linkin Park consumers will find out on the global grapevine web, about Killing Joke. Heavens Mummy! Who are they? Are there trees and animals in the Ladbroke Grove? What kind of computer does this Geordie programme to get that sound?

Viral conquest. The Joke are so significant they end up getting ripped off like this. Like the Beatles, the Stones...

Here is the real joke:

What do you call a good Linkin Park album?

== A Killing Joke rip off!

In doing my research, I learn that the band has a new album slated for release. Not exactly shocking. The title? A THOUSAND SUNS. Sound a bit familiar.
