[kj] Jaz on silver foil.

That's more common these days in the States; there's a huge black market for it. Somehow, a JP lyric is appropriate.

Cheers,

Or do like the guy here in Los Angeles who was busted last week for
stealing - wait! wait for it - fire hydrants to sell them as scrap metal.

I flow perpetual, I

In the year 1980 my Dad and I attempted to sell a quantity of lead sheathing I'd joyously extracted from the old mains wiring we'd removed from our new home. I even smelted the stuff into ingots, using a brick as the mould. Lost a lot of brain cells doing that, after which I grew fond of punk rock...no, not so. But some would say...

We approached a strap yard, and were practically chased out of the office by some oversized nutter. They would not buy!! So how the Hell did Blue Peter do it? They must have had Imperial tons of the stuff? POSTAGE STAMPS? That's right. Used bottle tops. Where on the planet Earth do people exchange money for old postage stamps? What was the exchange rate for silver foil? What kind of families produced enough silver foil that you could mail a substantial quantity to Blue Peter? We had Sunday roast? Maybe twice a week at that, my poor enslaved Mother would use the stuff? How much is that per month? See?

It was the Greys, the people who made the Nasca plains, the ones that Jaz saw fly overhead. Was anyone living by White City in those days? Notice big BBC bins full of envelopes and silver foil?

We are SO eclectic on here.

Only because Paul's statement looks literal....You sell the foil to a recycling company, and buy the dog with the cash you get for the foil.

Or, did I miss something?

<<< Could somebody please explain this to me, as it has been a very long time and I still do not understand HOW THE F*** YOU BUY TRAINED LABRADORS WITH SILVER FOIL??? >>>

I never got that either. Used bottle tops and postage stamps somehow turned into thousands of pounds…
