Afternoon all

I found myself browsing through Q in the store today, checking out their alleged 100 Greatest Frontmen. Some of it was absolute bollocks- Damon Albarn on the list at all, let alone at #3? Liam Gallagher at #1?? Florence and the Machine? Give me a break! Then there were the obvious safe choices- John Lennon with Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger- and then the obligatory slightly pseudo-'edgy' choices- Iggy Pop, Ian Curtis, John Lydon (Mike Patton too, which was nice). But of course, no mention anywhere of Sir Coleman. Given that Howard Devoto (!) got in, why didn't Jaz? I mean, I love Magazine and Devoto's a first-class singer and song-writer, but one of the best frontmen ever? Sheesh.

Still, I couldn't care less. Obviously. No way I'd stand in WHSmiths and read the whole feature. Not me.

Jim.
