[kj] Is Facebook Slowly Killing The Gathering...?

Something can only be killed if there is dissent internally. I know I sound like a fucking fortune cookie, but whateve. If you unconsciously want it to happen, it will. Honestly, I don't see the problem. Facebook will be replaced/merge/pair itself up with another 2.0 entity before The Gathering list will fall. However, these type of discussions would make one not want to introduce themselves. I ain't espousing censorship, just a point of observation. Then you just have the regulars, who become very proprietary. I didn't feel that here, and still don't, but of course it will happen if you all want it to.

And I expect all of you have seen this classic Muppets/Peaches video? Enjoy. Yes, for mature audiences, evidement.

I second Sir Alex S. & Lord Christoff H.

The list has had plenty of ups and downs over the years. Till more new KJ material pops out it's bound to drop off a bit.
Unless KJ has some new stuff or Jaz Coleman ends up sleeping with Sarah Palin it is the only logical path.
(How many times have we had people send "Test" Emails to see if the list is working or not?)

I for one enjoy the ability to not have to wade through 50 emails a day every day. I also think that in NO way can
Facebook replace the KJ list for all the back and forth (especially with how buggy it has been).

Not to mention, all the tracking people down and OT stuff. FB &/or Forums don't hold a candle to this Email list.

The Gathering shall move on. Forward Ents!

Sincerely,
Fuckwit :)

What's with all the doom n' gloom? Just because someone suggested that the list is "deflating" -- that doesn't mean it's necessarily true. I've been on this friggin' list since -- what -- 1998? It's gone through plenty of highs, lows, hills, valleys and permutations before. Let's not prematurely sound the death knell. At the very least, KJ as an entity are a going concern. When I first joined The Gathering, there was precious fuck-all going on in the KJ camp other than the release of NO WAY OUT BUT FORWARD GO and the now-rather-quaint compilation, UNSPEAKABLE (which we dared not .... ummm.... speak about for fear of some form of retribution).

The Gathering is not dead.

If it is then I'll go down with the Gathering ship. I cannot fathom managing/ignoring ANOTHER form of communication. Never mind that it is facebook.

See you at the bottom
