[kj] [KJ] Ze Knight that is Coleman

I just have this fantastical vision of a bunch of Gatherers with tears of devotion in their eyes giving him the most pedantic "French" things (of course he would have to get "ze French fries" first..see how long this can be played out), and of course there has to be a "French speaking native" who is "delighted" by this turn of events, but speaks a dialect that only one other Gatherer knows.

Hey, he was on that goofy show twenty years ago I found on youtube........he would sign a release for a "Candid Camera" hardee har har thang. I mean, he is a padre and all that religious stuff.......

About the thread's title, I just finished seeing the movie "Kingdom of Heaven" last night on cable and couldn't help wondering what in the hell The Coleman Knight / Le Chevalier de Coleman would do in that movie?

Well, I am just asking this out of interest. I remember Alex's sister, Patti Smith, received this honor because she promoted the work of Rimbaud. And yes, it just takes a few steps and you can see many allusions to French culture in some of her work and songs. J.Coleman has never been a huge proponent of French culture to the exclusion of other cultures.....it would almost be defying the premises that KJ was formed under......revolt against hegemony.

So, who are Jaz's French influences that I am now hearing about for the first time? Fascinating he kept them hidden for decades.

Le beau est tourjours bizarre.

Merci!
