I think he should put together a tour with the late eighties-era Ministry lineup and Killing Joke where they first play tracks off the "The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste" cd and then KJ plays the "Extremities..." cd, and Atkins plays with both bands. Thrown in a few songs off of Psalm 69 Pandemonium, and I'd pay to go see that.
Prolly make for a great DVD too.

Indeed, our miniscule peni often bring exactly that request.

Well, I tried, but I really couldn't fault Mr Atkins - he was a thoroughly nice bloke. I get the feeling
he's so into running his business (his living), that he could easily appear obsessed with making
money. Maybe he is. The bit that stopped me thinking along those lines so much was the humilty.
He seems to be into the whole 'start small & feed it 'til it grows' way of doing business, DIY labels,
all that sort of thing, which is something I'm all for. Oddly, he didn't mention his other business
practices of releasing material unbeknownst or against an artists' will & not paying royaties ;)

The thing lasted two hours or so, very interesting & I generally agreed with most of his advice.
There were a few tips I hadn't thought of, so I learnt a bit from the talk. Afterwards he was sort've
left with the juvenile Killing Joke fans (Jon had been making fart sounds & we were giggling like
kids at the back of the room!) & we asked him a few questions. Apparently he recorded the drum
tracks for the whole of Extremities in 10 hours. This is the field in which I really have respect for
the guy. The drumming on that album... fucking hell. He also said there were talks about getting
the Extremities line-up back together to play the album, like the Forum gigs. He was totally up for
it until Raven died - I think they were all interested. Sounds like it was planned before the original
line-up came back. I would've needed a lorry load of Tena Lady's to make it through THAT gig.

With all due respect to Raven, I'd still really like them to play it through.

Jon had his big 'Extremities era' scrapbook with him, which we both huddled around, fervently trying
to stick the pages together. They're packed full of clippings, tickets & some awesome photos.
I came twice looking at The Harp.

The HMV on Oxford Street? Heh. That has my DNA on the shrinkwrap. I fondled it on Thursday and decided that I wasn’t prepared to pay £27 for something I already had. If I see it discounted, however...

It has both nights, on 4 CDs, so that’s it.
