Xian Bale also dropped something like 30 lbs. from his normal weight for The Machinist and right after shooting that he bulked to about over 30lbs. above his normal weight for his 1st Batman movie.  The numbers may be off a few pounds or so but you get the picture of how work this guy puts into it all.

Does anyone ever come back from a movie as shit as Batman 9 or whatever it was and act as well as this again? The Machinist was brilliant (didn’t click it was him until 20 mins in he was so gaunt), American Psycho was great, even Shaft or whatever was watchable.
