I think it's just the ridiculous "Zero Tolerance" posture that was  
adopted post-September 11th..... compensating for turning a blithely  
blind eye on the actual day by stridently locking the barn door after  
the horse had escaped.

I didn't think twice about wearing the badge for the very reason  
Darren asserts -- if I *was* going to commit some act of terrorism,  
would I be silly enough to declare it on my lapel?

People suck.
