Also there's Radio Clash. Funky like early KJ.  Chic for the time.
The lyrics of "Lost in the Supermarket" i think are pretty good too.

"I wasnt born so much as I fell out, nobody seemed to notice me
We had a hedge back home in the suburbs, over which I never could see"

(Chorus)
Im all lost in the supermarket
I can no longer shop happily
I came in here for that special offer
A guaranteed personality

I wasnt born so much as I fell out
Nobody seemed to notice me
We had a hedge back home in the suburbs
Over which I never could see

I heard the people who lived on the ceiling
Scream and fight most scarily
Hearing that noise was my first ever feeling
Thats how its been all around me

Chorus

Im all tuned in, I see all the programmes
I save coupons from packets of tea
Ive got my giant hit discoteque album
I empty a bottle and I feel a bit free

The kids in the halls and the pipes in the walls
Make me noises for company
Long distance callers make long distance calls
And the silence makes me lonely

Chorus

And its not hear
It disappear
Im all lost

... ... ... ... ... ...

[looking at the current state of things..]

'Save me...
  save me from Tomorrow..
I don't want to sail in this Ship Of Fools...'

Straight To Hell is great in so many ways.  Also, Guns Of Brixton.
Aye, also, Bank Robber, White Man In Hammersmith Palais, Stay Free, Safe European Home, Junco Partner, White Riot, Somebody Got Murdered, Career Oppurtunities, London Calling just fucking rules (it's a London thing!), Tommy Gun, Armageddon Time, so on, so on.
So different from the Joke. If you are determined to make them kin, yes ok Dub Style, Reggae influence, anger at the system. It's like religion, different paths to get to the same fucking God!

There is no fucking Pidgeon Hole apart from those you make.

 Jelly good

the clash fuckin RULED, janie jones was one of the first real songs i ever fell in love with...
i've listened to both bands (clash and kj) alot, for a long time, and cant say ive heard any similarities, but haven't had my ear in listening for any either... STRAIGHT TO HELL is one powerful fuckin song any way ya look at it, and there are many others.  i can see why some dont like the clash - but to deny them the honour they deserve is just wrong!

Today i gave a listen to some Clash tunes here at work, and after listening a couple of times "The Magnificent Seven" it was evident to me that Jaz has some Joe Strummer influence in his singing. It's not the first time i think about this, but today after listening this song carefully I found some very familiar shoutings/screams, you know, the ones that go between the verses, some sort of "encouraging" choirs/screams by Joe Strummer. Those are pretty similar to the ones that you can find on songs by Killing Joke, let's say Pssyche (actually is it Pssyche or Psychee!?!?).

What do you think?

Nice weekend

Just experienced a 5.9 Richter earthquake a coupe of hours ago.
No damages thankfully.)
