[kj] OT: I dislike Farcebook

Tons of time-wasting bullshit on Facebook that's meant for people who only just recently learned of the internet's existence. Still, it does have it's good and practical points. A good way for me to stay in touch with my pals, especially the ones who don't live close by. The new design really does suck though. Looks exactly like Twitter.

Yeah, it’s like a playground for
people with no imagination and too much time on their hands. No, I don’t
want to pretend to grow something in a pretend garden. I fucking hate
REAL gardening. I click “ignore” for all those dumb requests.

But it has its uses – I also found the
half brother I’ve never met on there just recently.

I can understand you on that Brendan.
Personally, I don't mind facebook but don't elet it become all
comsuming.
All those fuckin app requests bug me to hell though. I ignore
or disable them all.
I like it for keeping in touch with people
& rediscovering old friends - far better than friends reuntied.
It's also been really useful for scuzzy & the bands I play in.
I agree with Elana about MySpace.
It's kinda grown out of control & just strikes me as a big
sprawling mess.
Great for bands but again, it's now a big sprawling mess so
bands seem to just whore onto other bands & no one really pays any
attention to anyone.
Jukebox is handy though for sharing choons although don't
Myspace 'own' all music submitted to it?
Or is that a myth? ("yeth?" ahh. bless the muppets....)

oh i loathe myspace. And I can't
get rid of it. The email I use to log into it was my webmistress at killing-joke.com email which is not currently active so
I can't go into that email to find the confirmation code to say I want to
delete my profile. I tried the "contact us" thing, and sent them a
message that way, and when I click send it says it will email me at the email
listed to log in. uhhh not good email..... so yeah. Hate myspace

Whilst i concur with you both to a certain degree, i have to say that Facebook
has kept me better in touch with some friends and allowed me to catch up with
some that i had lost touch with, along with being imformed of some interesting
things. Then there's Jonn Chapman and Fat(Jamie) Potanga's post which keep
me thoroughly amused. I like it, sad...but true!
