I second that. I've re-connected with friends who I lost track
of years ago and now surfaced in New Zealand and Burundi (!), so it has it's
value.

I thought some "Boxes""Applications" were fun during my first,
say 100 days, but now they novelty has worn off. "Add 200 friends to see
you results" and other crap has made me use it mainly as a chat-room...

Most ads are appaling (you don't realise this, but most ads are
machine translated from English to other languages , such as Swedish, and
sound like they've been written by five year olds).

Whilst i concur with you both to a certain degree, i have to say that
Facebook has kept me better in touch with some friends and allowed me to
catch up with some that i had lost touch with, along with being imformed of
some interesting things. Then there's Jonn Chapman and Fat(Jamie) Potanga's
post which keep me thoroughly amused. I like it, sad...but true!

ghastly, and it's all one big fat popularity contest reminding me how
shallow my friends and family and their friends and family are.*shudder*

Seriously, each time I've gone to use it over the last few months it's
annoyed the heck out of me and ruined the stillness and perfection of my
Buddha-nature.
