[kj] (OT) Sad Songs

Primary is a brilliant, brilliant track. And A Forest.

Every time they've tried to be upbeat and happy it's kinda sucked, well at
least not lived up to their other stuff, in my opinion. If that was all they
did I'd never have picked up a single Cure album. Catchy songs, but nothing
too special.

Lovecats is fucking stupid, sounds like something a sad drama teacher cooked
up for a class to perform.

Having said that, Primary has an upbeat feel and energy to it.

I'm more of the older stuff, like Seventeen Seconds, Pornography, and the
Top. Disintergration was pretty good too. But Seventeen Seconds is memorable
for me, as far as the Cure goes.

Well, I'm biased of course, I really like 4:13 Dream.

But Bloodflowers was bloody fabulous, IMO.

They're not going to make a good one again, are they ?

I lost interest after Disintegration - really didn't like the 'We've

always had a dance element to our music' remix album.

Occasionally I've tried to get back into them, I bought Bloodflowers

Which I thought was rather dull. I tried that one that was produced

By the bloke who produced Slipknot - that one was REALLY shite !!

I also bought 4.13 Dream a few weeks ago - kind of a last attempt,

but having listened to it a few times I have to say it sounds pretty tepid

too, sadly :o( .
