  We do, but I'd have to say that some of the best gigs I've ever witnessed were out in the midwest when i was in college. I think bands don't tend to enjoy playing NYC because of the big industry presence and the too-cool-for-school crowds, whereas audiences in, say, Ohio are hugely receptive. Bands tend to relax and have more fun in those environments. NYC shows -- or at least punk/indie/alternative/metal/blah blah blah-type shows -- are often fraught with acrimony and antagonism.

      Yeah, it was quite a show. Voi Vod were promoting NOTHINGFACE, FNM were pushing THE REAL THING and Soundgarden (with Jason Everman on bass) were touring LOUDER THAN LOVE. It was a very hairy evening.
