“Songs From The Victorious City” is world music to these ears. Doesn’t all have to be bongos and noseflutes. Or, indeed, Ladysmith Black Mambazo.  Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares is world music, as is Half Man Half Biscuit to a Zambian.

Ew. You mentioned Star Wars.

WTF?! Invocation sounds like Imperial Troop marching music from Star Wars if Star Wars was a lot darker than it was, WORLD MUSIC?!

GIT TA FOOK!

Heard it just now after, like , a year and i'd agree.

On a tangent, when I first heard Konono No.1 playing "world music" on thumb pianos
run through some distortion effects, I thought it was Geordie doing a side-project work before
I realized it was "World Music."

“Invocation” from Hosannas; lots of the remixes (particularly from the Alchemy & Wardance remix albums), and as you say the Pandemonium & Democracy-era CD single mixes.

World vomiting music, perhaps.

Is it safe to say "Communion" (and a couple of PNDMNM-era remixes) is
the closest Killing Joke ever swerved towards *ahem* "World Music", or are
there other songs that come closer?
