A week or so before OTG came out. Darren calls it year zero ;)

Indeed. All true, bizarrely enough. I gave him a lift to his Mum's house.

And ITG wasn't a work in progress, it was the finished mix. He asked if I wanted to hear the single, and I calculated that if I wasn't going to get to hear the whole thing I'd ask for album tracks, as the single would come out first so I'd hear that soonest. He was particularly animated about the title track and "The Calling", and obviously my view of the album is coloured by that afternoon. I still have the book he defaced somewhere.

It's not even my least favourite KJ album (excluding C Tapes, obviously). That would be Democracy, which although it has a few fantastic tracks, still doesn't engage me like their other albums.

PS: REALLY? You and Jaz in a Mini, Jaz in a cape, playing OTG on cassette to gauge your opinion? That's fucking off the charts, I think I might have to go into another room and have an episode.

And from now on I'm blaming OTG on you.

You're not wrong. It was a fresh-cowpat-green Mini.

Oi.

PS. Stalker.

Now I know why there's a SINGLE Gatherer who actually likes and defends OTG.

It's cos of that time you met Jaz in Cheltenham and he played the new KJ album for you in your car before it was out, innit Peace!

Was he seriously in a cape? The idea of you driving along in a Mini with a rambling Jaz sitting in the passenger seat with a foot and a half of cape trailing out the door is just so Spinal Tap.(I know I'm ad-libbing about the Mini, but it works for my comic sensibilities.)

Busted, fanboi.

PS: I move that from now on the OT in front of posts can be replaced with OTG, all in favour say oi.
