She is certainly still a force to be reckoned with. And I also like the
Mantaray stuff. But for some reason the accumulated consistent quarter-tone
flatness makes listening to that CD a trial.

If she did a proper Diamanda, that would be fine. But she doesn't.

And I love Nick Cave, so people singing out of tune isn't a problem for me
at all.

I just watched some video from "The Seven Year Itch" tour on youtube.
"Voodoo Dolly" done in a primitive way was pretty captivating. Sure, she
sounded primitive as well, but looking at recent footage of say, Johnny
Rotten makes me wonder why she is being singled out. She still has a voice,
and though out of tune, she embraces that. I also figured that was part of
the point, and she has entralled me for years due to her "fuck it" attitude.
Her voice is spellbinding (har) despite this. John Lydon can barely get the
words out to "Bodies" (I watched his 2007 version).....and was playing the
Hard Rock Casino in LV. I still consider her a force to be reckoned with, I
guess is what I am trying to say. Her voice is even more subversive than
when she started.

She's lovely :)

Oh, well I'm glad to hear she's regaining her voice. She was nowhere near as
bad as that 7 yeat itch

stuff when I saw some of the 90's Creatures gigs.

Its much better than the 7 yr itch, certainly, but at times she does sound
like a wounded buffalo when she tries to force some of the notes..looks
great though. I couldn't get away with a Pam Hogg catsuit like she does and
I'm NOWHERE NEAR 50...

Does she sing in tune on the live Mantaray stuff? I have that 7 year itch
dvd & it's un-fucking-listenable. Utterly, utterly disappointing. Luckily I
couldn't tell she was ridiculously out of tune when I saw them on that tour
in Sheffield. 'twas an awesome gig...

got mine this week too - I think its pretty decent value on Amazon already.
Particularly enjoyed the DVD - comparing the early footage to the latest
Mantaray DVD I can safely say Siouxsie has aged a lot better over the last
30 years than me...

It's a fantastic package.

It renders "Voices On The Air" obsolete, however, as it includes all the
Peel sessions. The quality is excellent, and the entire thing is only marred
by the usual pretentious wankery of Paul Morley's "essay" (sic) in the
booklet. The DVD is great too; I can now retire my DVD-from-TV of the Rock
Goes To College.

Recommended, particularly when it comes down in price a bit.

"The scene was wild and somewhat sinister. The darkness, the palms, the
mountainous background, the silent lake below, the impenetrable canopy of
space, studded with secretive and significant stars, formed a stupendous
setting for the savage noise and blaze of the ceremony."
