[kj] (OT) There is no hope, at this rate, Mr. Obama--there should be hope, still.

I love that Larry David piece (milk and coffee--mixed together--who would have thought)! One thing people on the list (except Chris, who's met me) may not know about me is I'm a total beer fanatic. And there are quite a few beers made with various kinds of coffee, sometimes mixed w/chocolate, oatmeal, milk sugar, as well as typical beer ingredients. I think beer is far more tasty, refined, and complex than any coffee, wine (I hate all wine), hard liquor, mixed drinks, etc. Another thing is that I rather (to use the British term) like is the smell/taste of coffee, but I have a very unusual way of drinking it--I basically gulp it down in less than a minute (for some reason it tastes better to me that way). I also don't "seek out" coffee like most drinkers--if it's cheap or free and readily available, I may drink it, but don't have any craving for it (beer, on the other hand, consumes most of my daily mental energy)...

Jelski, it's just that many have not been taught.
I often think people want to be oblivious, in order not to be responsible. I think many believe that the government will take care of this 'green business' for them :(
You walk into a Starbucks, claiming to be 'Green' etc. with the A/C on full blast!
But yes, composting. Great idea!

I do not understand why blowers are not replaced wit h other devices that vacuum them. Leaves could be then used in compost.

Well, when i was running my own gardening business, i used to find that a Rake would get the leaves into a pile, which i then used to put into a black bin liner, which i then used to take to the dump for composting. Funnily enough, that is common practice in GB believe, includint the local Councils, albeit on a grander scale. :-)

My feeling is that America just doesn't give a f*£k about the envoirement, apart from you wonderful Yankee's on the list!

Jelski
