I saw in a social science forum that he effaced himself to the point of 1) appearing "white," and 2) looked a 
curious version of Diana Ross, the woman who discovered Jackson 5 and his supposed '2nd mom.'
And/or..
..if it's true that kids reflect the hidden insanity/-ies of the parents, and seeing how white all his kids 
are, damn... issues, certainly.
