I thought that. The last two albums were ramk. Give it a go. I was really, really surprised. Apart from the single, which is clearly a steaming pile of ordure.

In my opinion, while the rot was clearly starting to set in circa ZOOROPA, their last album (how to dismantle a blah blah blah) was enough to put me off them for good).

Well, I'm pleased to be able to agree with you, as I thought they were shot after two albums of utterly uninspired drivel, except for 'New York'. If I remove a couple of tracks, it's not a bad album at all, definitely a grower. P!sses on the last two sh!t-piles.

An open minded, reasonable, varied group of people.

Apart from Queen, obviously, who, in the vernacular of my 16-year-old daughter, bite ass. (Sings “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”, then superglues lips together).

PS. “Unknown Caller” is the best track on the new U2 album.

In any case, I’m enjoying the new U2 album. The riff-tastic “Stand Up Comedy” (Audioslave lite) and “Magnificent” appeal most at this stage.

I’m confused now. Did a bit of digging, and I’ve found evidence that “11 O’Clock” was released in the UK & Ireland at the same time.

Ignore me. I’m probably wrong!

==========================
Sort of. “11 O’Clock” & “A Day Without Me” were issued in the UK after “Boy” had taken off (and therefore after “I Will Follow”, along with the yellow vinyl four-packs. Original Irish issues are different catalogue & matrix numbers.

Or so some spod told me...

And Eno – his first 4 solo LPs are fantastic! One of my favourite Fripp guitar solos is on “Baby’s On Fire”, from “Here Come The Warm Jets”.

and I own all of them :(
wasn't a day without me a 'UK' single though?

i am also an eno fan (strictly only his work after i met him), and i personally think he saved their career a few times ;)

Erratum : they’d actually released 4 in Ireland before “I Will Follow” : the “3” EP, “Another Day”, “11 O’Clock Tick Tock” and “A Day Without Me”.
================
Yes, “I Will Follow” was their first UK single, although they’d released three singles by that stage in Ireland.
