Aha, but still you get the film out every few years!
I was thinking the other day about the 5 film box set of his films that I gave as a Christmas present, that I watched. My opinion is the reverse. In one scene of Eyes Wide Shut, Tom Cruise talks to an old friend who dropped out of medical school. As they drink in a bar, you can hear the ice clinking around in their glasses. There was something amazing about this tiny detail that really put me on edge, embarrassing me as much as the old friend clearly is to see Cruise again. It really stated the scene. You have to reflect on how understated the Horror can be in The Shining, scenes of people still and staring, taking things in. Oooh.
