[kj] OT: Music industry - decline in CD sales

I used to do that at the old second-hand record shops I frequented in my 20's, but they've closed or I don't go near them anymore in daily life. There's a few so-called independents in B'ham, but they've always been too 'hip' & scenesterish for me to be that interested. Swordfish I like though - I go in there most times I'm up B'ham.

i go to the city centre independent record shop and spend a while in
it, speaking to the staff that i have known for upto 28 years. They
can point me to recommendations, talk about the families, any gigs
coming up,....chew the fat.

Cant do that in a zaavi or hmv. Where's your local independent?
