Depending on the deal he did with Leftfield... sales of Leftism must have been astronomical.

 

Reminds me that Alec Guinness took a punt on his deal with Star Wars, whereby - unlike the rest of the cast - he opted for a percentage of the takings rather than a straight fee.  And cleaned up.

So Lydon said the Sex Pistols never made any money, and now he's said PiL never made any money...which begs the question, other than butter ads and reality tv appearances...how did he afford his real estate portfolio?

Encore - sun / rise /open up. 

 

I thought Public Image the song was a bit ropey but once Careering kicked in it was great - Johnny was on top form, a two and a quarter hour set and he'll never make the week of gigs - his voice just won't be up to it, glad we got in early ;0)

Sorry never saw this email - just got back from Birmingham tonight.  Thought they were brilliant and Lydon was exceptional and sang really well despite needing the words.  Lu Edmonds for me played a blinder.  For those going turn away now but we had Public Image, Careering, Not a Love Song, Poptones, Memories, Flowers, Banging the door, Death Disco, Religion, Annalisa, awesome version of Albatross, Rise and an excellent version of Open Up to name a few.  Really enjoyed it despite the cost and the fact it was a bit on the sparse side.
